The Department of Public Safety Policy Manual

Policy revisions are underway for the new Department of Public Safety Administrative Policy Manual. Human Resources policies are the first set of consolidated policies being released. These policies provide structure, fairness and a consistent treatment of DPS employees.

The DPS policy and procedure manual is to be used in conjunction with the State Personnel Policy Manual from the Office of State Personnel and the State Budget Manual.  The State Budget Manual covers policies regarding employee travel and expenditure of state funds.  These manuals guide DPS employees on rules, regulations and requirements of their employment.

Any violation of this manual can be used soley as the basis for disciplinary action against an employee, and then only in a non-judicial administrative proceeding.
